Back with the other Z Fighters and Bulma, Goku explains that he survived Namek’s destruction via a Ginyu Force space pod. He later crashed on another planet and was nursed back to health by the inhabitants. He was also taught a new technique – the Instant Transmission. What Trunks had to say is a less pleasant matter to discuss. Piccolo – having heard everything already because of his good ears – cuts to the quick. The Z Fighters decide to spend the next three years training, so they will be ready for the Androids.

The Z Fighters – some together and some separately – are in full training mode and with specific regiments in mind. Outdoing Goku, though, proves more important to Vegeta as he trains in three hundred times Earth’s gravity. Curiosity about the Saiyan Prince’s intense workout prompts Yamcha to give it a try – much to his regret. More severe trouble later occurs for Vegeta – thanks to a shipwide overload and explosion. Bulma ends up nursing him back to health. Three-way sparring between Goku, Gohan and Piccolo goes significantly smoother.

A rough trek through the forest is the last straw for Chi-Chi. Pressure to get a driver’s license is now on Goku. Also along for the ride is Piccolo, courtesy of Goku. Needless to say, chaos ensues during their driving tests, and they fail. A later test sees them and an instructor find a bus full of people in danger. Innocent lives are saved by Goku and Piccolo, but they fail the test again. On the plus side, the instructor admits that he’d rather be able to fly like them than drive. In the end, it’s three years later and time to fight the Androids.
